Bro fuck that, in America the difference is, although unjustly, Kaepernick lost his job to play in the NFL and settled out of court for 10 mill for the NFL trying to silence him, in other countries, (like China) its the government putting you in jail or making you disappear when you don’t “respect the patriotism.
They did Kap dirty but he has and still is speaking out for his causes.
No shit America has had a policy of supporting dictators and oppressive regimes at their convenience of security and economy, America first foreign policy, although was more nuanced & covert with soft power mostly in the past, is not new and will always be there, but this situation with China telling an American company to shut the fuck up and NBA listening is unique af. And in my opinion a turning point in the world if properly escalated.
You do realise that happens in USA too right? Also people and companies in China successfully sue the government for unlawful bans. As I said, there are examples of each for every case.
Then you are as clueless as we thought if you believe that.

Ah ok so now your going into the realm of US having secret assassin squads for people who dissent against Trump and the government. K. I’m sure we are just like China in regards to banning YouTube & companies who criticize the gov.
🙄🙄 I swear people love to have false equivalencies for the US to defend their points and it’s sickening. The way China treats their people and dissent from their people is NOT EVEN CLOSE to equivalent as to how US treats riots and dissent against their government domestically.
& the only ones who have bowed down to China is the tech companies puckering their lips to cater to their requests as to how to control their domestic issues, such as Google & Facebook etc, & even then that’s subject to a lot of criticism. This is unique in its putting it to the forefront with a fucking Sports League, a fight they chose and hopefully will lose.
This is completely incorrect. I swear you have no idea what you are talking about. Also it's not just China that USA have had to comply with against their will.
Unfortunately your uneducated beliefs about how the USA has been conducting business, and operating in the the international theatre of business and war, are far too common in the country. This is why people are so shocked about what has happened, because pop culture and sports are where the vast majority of American's get their information of the outside world from.
It's new to the NBA, therefore it's new to you.
