And MPJ.

Jokic's on/off numbers are contender vs bottom seed. He's averaging 26/14/7, no player in NBA history has ever averaged 25/13/6 before.

Here’s how other MVP candidates compare:

How do you figure? Passing wise, sure. But as a scorer? No way.

Embiid is definitely a better scorer. He can easily be argued as the most dominant scorer in the league right now in terms of being able to kill you from anywhere (him or KD). The way he's scoring out there shooting faders, one leg step backs, shooting threes at an efficient clip, and also dominating as a post up scorer more than anyone has in recent league history. Some people don't truly appreciate how insanely freakish Embiid is at his size to be able to score the way he does and be as good of a shooter as he is. Embiid statistically sees more double teams than anyone else in the NBA too.

But Embiid is no slouch as a passer anymore, he has improved there dramatically and is averaging a career high 4.2 assists per game too so it's not like he's not improving still. He's playing the best basketball of his career right now for sure (31+ points in 11 of his last 12 games too).

Either way, we can all agree Embiid and Jokic are in a class of their own among centers in the NBA. It's great to see big men like this be among the best in the league.

Maybe much was a strong word, but I would say jokic is a better scorer than embiid. Higher fg% and TS%, more or equally efficient from each range, superior passer, creates more points than Embiid statistically. Embiid is dominant as well but Jokic >

Agreed, but
Let’s move away from from pure on court statistics

Jokic has way higher mental fortitude than Embiid. Embiid flops and cracks under pressure, and when things aren’t going his way ends up having games where he goes 2-20 and shit like that. Jokic doesn’t take shit from anyone, see: the morris incident, cunt still can’t walk, where as Embiid gets dropped at the slightest bit of contact, even from a renowned softy like KAT

Basically to summarise. Jokic is a man, and Embiid is a baby back bitch.

To be fair, Embiid gets doubled at a ridiculously high rate, statistically speaking. Jokic does not (surprisingly).

Embiid is just dominant as a scorer and you have to double him, he gets to the free throw line twice as much as Jokic as a result too. He's more physical, bigger, stronger, athletic, and just so difficult to guard in 1 on 1 situations (hence his higher FT attempts). He's way more dominant in post up situations too (he's miles ahead of anyone else in the league as a poster scorer).

Jokic is insanely skilled for a guy with relatively limited athleticism (in NBA standards), and his passing ability is as good as anyone in the league though. He's an elite shooter not just for big men but among anyone in the league in that mid-range game too. What he's able to do with the body he has and the athleticism (or lack of) in the NBA is just wild. The guy is just such a high IQ and skilled player it makes it that much more impressive. I know he has sneaky athleticism and just looks like a slob, but it really is impressive to see him dominate with all that baby fat on him.

Won’t argue embiid is a beast in the post. Jokic doesn’t get doubled much because he’s so big and such a good passer for his size he would exploit double teams easily. He’d have twice as many assists as he does if he was doubled the way embiid is

no joker just passes out of the double team instantly, embiid will hold the ball

Joker doesn't get doubled anywhere near as much as Embiid.

Like statistically speaking it's not even close. Embiid is at the top or near it in terms of double teams, that's the only way you can slow him down. Nobody is stopping him 1 on 1 rofl.

And while he's not the passer that Jokic is, Embiid has improved quite a lot as a passer throughout his career. What was once a weakness is now much improved.

The Nuggets have a 104.7 defensive rating while Jokic is on the court

The Sixers have a 107.1 defensive rating with Embiid AND Thybulle on the court.
