Are the Braves better than before thought or are the Mets just bad?

Braves aren't very good.. but any MLB team can beat the other on any given day.
I'd say it's more of the Mets losing than the Braves winning.

Omar Infante is back!
Agreed to a minor league contract with us.

Traded: Bud Norris, minor league outfielder Dian Toscano, a player to be named later and cash considerations to the Dodgers
Received: minor league right-hander Caleb Dirks and minor league lefty Phil Pfeifer.

I like the haul :)

They still have Maitan linked to making a verbal agreement with Braves, he's the top international prospect.

Atlanta has lined up a big batch of spending, but Badler provides a bit of context for just how large: he says it “should look comparable to what the Yankees did in 2014-15.”

Red Sox interested in both Julio Teheran and Arodys Vizcaino "and they have the pieces needed to acquire".. but Braves are saying we're not trading Teheran. I guess we'll see.

The Braves are making their presence felt on the first day international prospects can sign, loading their Minor League system with several top international prospects, including top teenage infielder Kevin Maitan for $4.25 million, according to industry sources.

In addition to Maitan, the Braves agreed to terms with catcher Abrahan Gutierrez, ranked No. 18 on MLB.com's Top 30 International Prospects list, for $3.5 million; shortstop Yunior Severino, ranked No. 19, for $1.9 million; shortstop Yenci Pena, ranked No. 22, for $1 million and infielder Livan Soto, ranked No. 24, for $1 million. The club also agreed with right-handed pitcher Guillermo Zuniga of Colombia for $350,000 and right-handed pitcher Juan Contreras ($1.2 million).

Another great outing by Foltynewicz. He's already became my favorite pitcher on the team in just 1 season.
2H shutout through 7 against a Rockies team that's (in the NL) 1st in .slg, 2nd in .avg, 3rd in obp, 1st in rbi, 2nd in runs.
Beatsmode

and just hit a RBI single. :sunglasses:

Trade looked like a steal even before folty started to put it together. If Ruiz keeps improving, it will be even more of a coup

So I posted on my facebook after game 1 that I thought Freeman would have his highest HR count of his career this year just because his swing looked so powerful opening day.
His career high before this year was 23, he currently has 27 this year. He's having one of his best offense years even with no offense around him and lengthy droughts.

6 wins in a row.
Kemp straight slugging, hit another 2 HR yesterday.
Freeman on base for 42 straight games (Sheffield has record at 52).. and hits in 26 straight (Uggla has record at 33).
Lots of good happening at the tail end of this season, which gives hope and anticipation for next year.
Unfortunately we have a lot of money and want to crush FA.... but as expected, the year we have money to unload, there's not any good options available at positions of need for us (except C [McCann/Weiters])

33 HRs now for Freeman, crazy...
Also we were down 6-0 through 2 innings and won 7-6.
