Getting Rhys out of the outfield and not having Kingery play shortstop just gave the Phillies like +10 wins

Jon Heyman:
sources: Corbin will sign a 6-year deal for about yu darvish $, pending physical. team is not known yet, however.

Yankees is apparently out of the running.

Sources: #Yankees made a 5-year offer to Patrick Corbin but did not increase the years beyond that, an indication that he is signing elsewhere. @MLB @MLBNetwork

Apparently the unknown team is Yankees, but sources haven't confirmed it yet.

2:40pm: Corbin is evidently nearing agreement, as Morosi tweets that a signing is “imminent.” He’s said to be lining up a six-year deal, though it’s not yet clear with what team.

With the Yankees only putting five years on the table, it seems they aren’t going to get the lefty, Morosi adds on Twitter.

Not sure it's the Yankees; I think it's the Phillies.

The Nationals have agreed to a deal with veteran lefty Patrick Corbin, according to Chelsea Janes of the Washington Post (via Twitter). Terms are not yet fully clear, but indications are it’ll be a six-year contract in the range of $126MM, assuming that he passes his physical.

Wow, never mind.

Max Scherzer
Patrick Corbin
Stephen Strasburg

That's a hell of a rotation for the Washington Nationals. Wonder how much money, and this definitely means that they are going to swing hard to re-sign Harper.

Wow. Well I think that puts them out on Harper.

You think so? I would think this would convince Harper that their rotation is top heavy, and they have a better chance this year than last years debacle.

There's no possible way they can afford him anymore.

6 years/140mil for Corbin to Nats.

I think they can, it doesn't make any sense to shell out that money if you're going to get your superstar free agent walk away. Would seem like a backwards move, and even then, if they weren't going to go after Harper, who's going to replace his bat?

As much as I dislike Bryce, he's still a top 5 NL MVP candidate easily.

Adam Eaton, Victor Robles, Juan Soto will be the outfield. It's still a very good outfield. They have zero chance at resigning Harper now.

I could see them going after a 2b (Lemahieu or one of the many other options) and they still could use another SP/Bullpen.
