that crater was pretty damn wide though. (maybe that was partially because of the shields deflection, meh)

though since Filo managed to detect it i guess others would probably notice it too.
Naofumi could just use his shield prison and hold them then watch them get cooked. lol

one thing i feel might be a reason is that funky sky with the waves, perhaps it blocks it's use.

i mean hes trying to kill the heros... how can he expect the world to survive the waves without them?

like what could he realistic goal be after the heros die?

they summon more, that's been said already by Fitoria when she mentioned killing them.

they never made that apparent

their goal was control, is what i thought.
if they couldn't control the heroes or the royals they would simply get rid of them.

in short, they got that god complex.
something you see often in stories where the setting isn't modern. (even then it's still appears in modern plots but not as often or as bad)
