I mean Berserk wouldn't be the same if Casca didn't get raped. Heck, maybe Guts would've even let it go if she was unharmed.

I feel like the pace they set in ep 1 definitely wasn't kept, sure. But they've used 3-5 to kinda develop characters that should be sticking around for the rest of the show (didn't read the manga so don't quote me on this)
still enjoying the show overall.
