they don't really go into saying if there's other demons around outside the ones that were released because of his father.
But the only ones that Hakkimaru gets things back from are the demons depicted in that demon temple his father made his deal in.
that's why the statues break after they're slain.

actually the most recent ep was a pretty nice example of how the curse functioned.
Hakkimaru didn't manage to kill that worm like demon but he still managed to get his voice back likely because the the attack was near fatal, however at the same time he lost his leg again which probably allowed it to recover. (equivalent exchange)
that's why when he actually killed it the 2nd time around he regained back the leg it stole from him.
