Do you think the majority of criticism received so far is fair? Or do you think it's just a lot of band wagon hate for a show everyone secretly still loves, but can't let go of?

I mean we've reached the climax. Climax, by definition is the end product of years of character building and plot developments. It has to end. Accept it.

I see loads of people saying this season is mad rushed.. but again, it's the climax? We dont need slow journeys full of dialogue now, character/plot development.. we're past it.

People who nit-pick, some of them do make really good points, i mean nothing is perfect if you scrutinise it enough. But that's all it is, nit-picking.

Me personally, i sit down each week, i watch the epsiodes and i'm a ball of excitement. This season has been brilliant, different, but brilliant. I'm glad i still enjoy the show, and if all the hate is actually genuine, i feel sorry for these people.

I'm a huge believer in considering context. And I'm a huge fan of the show that wants to defend it at every opportunity.

When producing TV shows, business trumps art. Shows tend to struggle when they get into their 7th and 8th seasons. When you consider the context of GoT (inflating budget, egos, contracts, lack of source material) it's no surprise that there has been a dropoff in quality.

I wholeheartedly believe that D&D expected the next books to be ready by the time the show got there. They didn't sign up for having to end it like this.

I lowered my expectations going into S7. And by those lower standards, it was a good season. It isn't the type of season that makes me want to recommend it to people (as it had been from S1-6).

All things considered, D&D did a good job ... up until S8E3. And that's where my pro-GoT bias reaches its limits. I can't keep reaching to defend/justify what happened that night. When I sat down to watch that episode, GoT was my favorite series. After that, it dropped down to my 3rd favorite series (Behind The Wire and Breaking Bad).

-Salladhor San and Euron Greyjoy were both men of means who seemed willing to expend resources to accomplish their goal of 'fucking the queen'
-S8 forced in an awkward scene of Arya wanting to gain some sexual experience
-Some interpretationed Arya's scene with the white horse at the end of Ep5 to be a callback to Dany's white horse of S1 (innocence) and to signify Arya giving up killing and choosing to value life
-Littlefinger's death leaves a void in the markets where he was doing business

This leads me to a theory that Arya will collect the faces of the famous women of Westeros (queens, nobles). She will then use those identities/bodies to start her own premium brothel where she performs all the services herself. People will pay good money to fuck the dragon queen. Arya will make more money this way than she could have as an assassin. And she will be spreading love instead of murder.

The concept is plausible... I don't think she will search through the rubble to get Cersei though, considering she doesn't even know where the body is. Will have to wait on how gruesome Danearys's death scene will be... well that is if they don't change the outcome and she lives on and moves back over the ocean with her Unsullied & other soldiers.

If I remember correctly, "The Many Face God" requires the body to make the faces... could be incorrect, but then it was implied early in her training and cleaning the dead.

Here's another one...

After Dany dies, Drogon will become a loose cannon. Ep6 will mostly be a time lapse of Drogon and his new brood eating most of the people in Westeros over the next 50 years. Survivors will be forced to find shelter in caves. The final scenes of the series will create a seamless transition into the beginning of the movie Reign of Fire

I was already cracking up after the first one. "Plausible," the fuck lol.

Near the end of ep6, Bran will travel back in time to the beginning of Season7 and unmake all the events we saw play out over those 2 seasons. We then time jump back to the present, but we don't know how those events played out in this new timeline.

We see Sam in his study writing the history of all those events (battles, deaths) for the Citadel's records.

Little Sam walks in the room and sits at the table across from Sam. The camera is oriented behind him and above his head. He says "dad can you tell me a story".

Sam pushes the book across the table, looking at his son (and also at the camera) and says "If you want to know the real story, you'll have to read the books"
