Honestly, if we could get a dvd release that edited out the WW symbolism/foreshadowing in the first 7 seasons, then I think we could create a version of GoT that would be pretty tight.

Cut out the symbols, the time that one WW ignored Sam, and the whole scene with craster's baby

Cut out half the dialogue between Bran/3ER and the part about Bran getting 'marked' inside his vision. Just act like Bran's initial trip to the cave and the undead they killed outside was what alarmed the NK to their location.

The scene around the frozen lake would be hard to edit (as it made absolutely no sense for multiple reasons) but perhaps they could just act like the plan all along was for them to grab a WW and get a dragon evac at a predetermined time. Then it would make sense for Dany to be there and rescue them (completely remove the issue of the undead waiting at the edges of the lake for days). She could still lose Viserion in the same way.

The walkers letting Sam live makes sense, why cut it? The babies make sense, that's how the NK got so many walkers.

The spiral symbolism makes sense because that's what the NK is obsessed with because it's part of what created him.

Just because there isn't some fanfic mystical bullshit behind every action doesn't mean it doesn't make sense.

Edit: they used Bran getting marked in the show you can't get rid of it.

The frozen lake thing is fine because to the NK losing a large chunk of army trying to get across the lake isn't worth it for the few men.

A lot of people bitch about him waiting but like why? Time is literally meaningless to him. He isn't in a rush. He probably would have waited the until the group starved if need be. People bitching about the scene just don't understand how meaningless time is to the NK.

He clearly doesn't care about time because the army of the dead never rush to do anything. They clearly can move really fast, they do so in battle, but they take 8 fucking years to walk anywhere.

Why would time matter to an undying creature?
