black elves ruin my immersion.

Also some bad writing:

"SPOILERS"

How did the fire mage guy know where kaer morhen is?
How did he know exactly that the specific flask he took had ciris blood?
How did yen know that Geralt and Ciri were at that temple?

Otherwise, I didn't find myself skipping through 70% of the season like I did with season 1. Cavil carries.

also no explanation of witchers potions/signs.
No explanation how yen got her powers back... Are we supposed to assume the witch gave it back to her when it possessed her? lol.

Witcher 3 had cool polish type music, this show the closest we got to that was the witches theme.

just finished S2

fun to watch, but by no means a masterpiece

a lot of things feel unexplained. Perhaps its just lazy writing to keep the pacing up. Perhaps some of them are mysteries that will be unraveled later.

I feel like I need a a youtube video that will give a breakdown of what thing I am supposed to know and what I am supposed to not know

The Fringilla and Triss casting still kill my immersion but the show is fine, still above average. I just cant see them using this Fringilla for the time at Toussaint. She is not a seductive casting. If I recall correctly as well when Triss goes to Kaer Morhen in the books she continues to sleep with Garalt while being essentially a big sister to Ciri. I can't picture that happening either. Maybe that has already happened in S2 I am only 3 or 4 episodes deep. Shes just so dull.

I think every show should take a lesson from the early seasons of GoT when it comes to world building. Even something as simple as the GoT intro let you understand the world. I know the world from the books but its nice to have something that gives you reference at least once an episode and GoT worked that perfectly by using an intro to do it. Having a world and knowing where each parcel of land they're standing in relative to the others adds a lot for me in fantasy.

As someone who hasn't played the game or read the books, I agree with you that I often didn't understand the places they were talking about. It's a minor flaw. After the sequence had played out, I was susually able to realize what the characters had been talking about.

Maybe if I had been watching with subtitles it would have helped since I could have connected each place to a word. When characters with different accents pronounce a city a bit differently, it took me a bit to realize what they were saying.

Yeah, I pretty much watch everything with subtitles on at this point. For some reason I never felt like I had that issue with Lord of the Rings, I can't recall what they did.

Kaer morhen isn't exactly a hidden location. It's just unknown to most because they aren't old enough to remember when the wishers we've secretive about it. Mages have extended life and he could've known it's location from before the siege forced Witchers to be more secretive.

He knew about the blood cuz Tess and Vesemir literally had a conversation about it while he was lurking in the room waiting to attack.

Seems like the hag lead Yen to the temple.

Maybe don't skip through episodes then complain it doesn't make sense.

The viewer having to assume the mage "knows where kaer morhen is" isn't a good explanation.
Id say the witch helping yen track down ciri is pushing it.

I see the mage vial one now.

this isn't a full explanation, but this was my interpretation from watching the show:

When the fire mage had the bard (Jaskier?), the bard gave a brief explanation about a song he created. He said something to the effect of "Geralt mentions a witcher hideout, I create a story about a keep in the mountains". He was scared and babbling, but ended up giving something away.

I took this to mean that Geralt had actually told Jaskier something about the keep that ended up making it into a song after they split. The song was well-known and contained some real clues about its location that the fire mage used to deduce the location. Possibly with help from his employer. His employer has not been revealed to us yet, so perhaps when he is then maybe things about the fire mage will make more sense.
