People are having trouble understanding that tactical errors by chracaters isn't sloppy writing. They literally happen all the fucking time in real life. I've seen some pretty fucking dumb shit in 8 years by people who are actually trained by professionals. Complacency gets a lot of people killed.

There’s a difference between tactical errors and tactical retardation

How many real life combat situations have you been in where you can draw these conclusions from?

I've seen dumber in real life.

Tactical retardation is also realistic. As WW2 winded down, Hitler issued so many retarded military commands that his generals were ready to assassinate him.

See, this is where you're wrong.

I never say that the death of the dragon DIDN'T serve a purpose - far from it. The way the dragon died was my "beef". I even mention in my post that "I get the point - they want her to start to go "mad queen" mode, but they fucked it all up".

Did you even read what I said? lmao.

Just to be a bit more concise for you.... The dragon should have died during the battle for Winterfell, not shot out of the sky in an absurd manner by precise sniper shots from scorpions.

Let me spell it out for you. The dragon dying when it did helped to stoke Danny's rage against Cersei and help unhinge her, if it had died during the long night it would have just been a sad death that didn't serve any plot purpose.

why do you protect the writers so much? the writing has major flaws and at times they contradict their own stuff

since you mention the dothraki in the post before this one, that scene was literally the biggest loss of life in the entire show
a complete army of several ten thousand wiped out in a minute for no reason whatsoever
then the most retarded battle tactics of all time, not even the worst commanders could manage that

dont get me wrong, i still love the show, but from season 6 onward the plotholes have become bigger and bigger

They lost half their army and while clearly it wasn't a smart military tactic, it was again used to set a tone and it succeeded there. That was one of the better scenes of the entire episode lol. I'm mainly referring to all the idiots online just regurgitating the same idiotic sentiment that the Dothraki should have been used to flank the enemy.

:bonk:

What's it like being the person who makes everyone around them seem better by contrast?

Again, it's pointless trying to explain anything to either of these guys.

We find out in episode 4 about half the Dothraki died, not all of them.

Also their battle tactic wasn't retarded from their perspective. Obviously being outside the show and having all the information we can easily see the flaws. For the Dothraki however, they have spent literally their entire history doing shock tactic charges like that and it worked. That type of battle tactic even has basics in reality, hell the Mongols conquered most of the known world and ruled it for an absurdly long time using those exact same tactics.

I like how this gets so heated that people start insulting each other over whose fiction theory is better. It's one thing to fiercely debate it but completely another when it becomes personal. Art criticism isn't a science.
