Sorry but you're wrong. Not sure if you paid attention to episode 4, but they basically spent the entire time doing their best to fuck with Danny emotionally and mentally.

The dragon dying served a purpose.
Just like her being virtually ignored at the feast.
Just like her seeing Cersei execute her friend.
Just like her seeing Jon be Kingly at the funeral.

The entire episode was about disrupting her character.

Just ignore them. We've got one guy who thinks Cersei "let Danny live" and another guy who believes bringing up a single example of a young dragon (he was approximately 1/4 the size) getting hurt means that Danny should be scared to use her dragons lol. But ya, I'm the one making terrible arguments....

I'll never understand the mindset of the masses tbh. Funny how they just pick and choose what to nitpick about and what to ignore. I'm still laughing over Endgame being celebrated as one of the best movies ever, while we've got people losing their minds about the Dothraki not being used in a way they've never been used before, less lighting in an episode that needed less lighting to set the tone and now this, we've got people losing their minds over a cup and over Danny (a character who's obviously being pushed into a certain direction) underestimating her opponents, something she always fucking does. Just painful listening to these complaints, especially when there are actually legitimate things to complain about.

Basically all you do is talk shit thinking your point of view is how everybody should think

Keep it up champ

I provide counterpoints to people who can't formulate coherent thoughts. I apologize that I came across like an asshole when doing so, but if people could provide more than "BECAUSE I SAY SO" as the basis of their arguments, I wouldn't have to humiliate them(you). You're the guy who honestly believes Cersei, the crazy bitch who blew up the biggest church in her city to kill her enemies, killing hundreds of civilians in the process and who is currently using her civilians as meat shields, was in a position to kill the person she sees as her only opposition to ruling the seven kingdoms and you think she didn't do it because she "didn't want to look bad"? The only time she was in danger was when she crossed Greyjoy's fleet, Cersei never was in a position to harm her or anyone other than Tyrion. I've already said it makes no sense for Tyrion to have survived that encounter and that's a legitimate complaint, but thinking Cersei let someone like Danny live to protect her image, is an impossibly dumb thing to believe and seeing as your only counter argument is "You're a meanie head", I think we both know how wrong you are.

Lmao - okay boss.

She lost a dragon doing the same fucking shit with the night king. You think she'd learn and not be within sniper's range of scorpions at any time flying down to fight her enemies @ KL. It was stupid. Nothing against taking dragons out to show it's not an auto win, just the way it happened. Three consecutive sniper shots to hit a moving dragon from hundreds, if not thousands of yards away.

Hardly been scratched by man? Drogon got fucked up in the Harpy pits and had to heal for weeks. Dany knew they had scorpions for when she engaged the Lannester army and Bronn shoots the dragon WITH THE SAME WEAPON THAT KILLS THIS ONE.

Might as well have the thing die of natural causes.

At least make decent arguments if you're going to act like a pompous ass. Your argument is completely pointless.

Cracks me up when people don't really remember shit, but want to bring it up anyway.

I love how the same people who complain that the writing is terrible are too stupid to understand the symbolism of Jon not having a proper goodbye with Ghost.

They must have also forgot about how the last time she faced a fleet she decimated them easily. Not to mention she was dealing with all kinds of fucked up stressful situations. She's went most of her life where she overcame every problem with only minor inconveniences. She just found out that she has been wrong for years about her being the rightful Queen and that the actual rightful ruler is a man she is in love with. She's rattled and making bad decisions. It happens in the military in real life A LOT.

I think this whole Mad Queen shit is just speculation for drama just like the Arya/Sansa feud of last season.

I'm right there with you man. The writing has had some issues, but 90%+ of what I'm hearing people bitch about, is shit that doesn't even make sense. I guess audiences really do need to have their hands held.

As far as the whole Mad Queen thing goes, it seems pretty obvious that Danny and Jon are going to be going up against one another. Danny is already losing her shit, and when she finds out that Jon went and did something she begged and pleaded with him not to do, she's going to break. I personally don't like the comparisons between her and the Mad King. Worse case scenario, she wants to burn the city down to end a war and secure her crown, hardly the same as an all powerful dictator burning people to death for kicks.

The conflict between Jon and Danny doesn't really feel proper at this point in time. Like it feels a bit forced.. I wish they would have waited until she was a bit more unhinged before having Jon's lineage be an issue. Like currently with two logical people, the conversation of "you can challenge my claim" "fuck that I don't want the throne" is all that is needed to avoid conflict. So conflict should be avoidable. Like Jon is supporting literally everything she says, the is no reason for her to be worried. I would have preferred if something happened to break Danny's trust in Jon or have her more unhinged, just something before that conversation happened to make us think "dang she is having second thoughts about this".

I mean at this point we are thinking that, but it wasn't earned... Like it's just something we know, not something the characters have evolved into.

I finally caught up, and then I had to try and catch up with all the posts since what, page 38 to 51... skipped last two because I was getting bored.

Anyway... my 2 cents on this show, first off, I know it isn't real, it is a fantasy world with different laws and physics and all that other crap compared to our own physics and laws, but, I will just post anyway.

Has anyone ever tried shooting an Eagle with a single shot Rifle while it was flying high up in the sky? NO... neither have I, but, it is said that it is nearly impossible to hit one... so, how did they ever get to hit the Dragon ACCURATELY three(3) times, remember that the initial impact changed the dragons trajectory (flight path) because it was falling.

I read from others that Danni forgot about Euron and his ships... okay, that could be feasible, but, what about her Advisors? Jon, all other council members in the war room in previously and in the last one? They ALL forgot? Did they even mention or bother to find out if the Female Greyjoy succeeded in her mission, did they even send a messenger to her? And so forth.

Did anyone think they loaded those Scorpion bolts fast? Just like in the previous episode I stated they fucked up the planning for war. Why wasn't Danni riding her Dragons HIGHER to get a better view? How come she was flying in close quarters with the other one? It doesn't matter that she did NOT remember anything, the advisors should have already mentioned this and come up with actual tactics.

Shit I can go on for hours on how lame that section was and also the fact that they lost all their ships because the barrage of scorpion bolts were excessively fast.

Everything else was just typical from their... the Parley at the gates was funny, if it wasn't daylight, I could have sword the closing of the gate behind him came from D2 when confronting Baal... The writers did not really fuck that up, it was the setup crew not getting the distance right and also the camera angles were poor making it look closer than it should have been. Tyrion had balls to walk up to Cersei, the only reason why he wasn't killed was because she knew he did NOT poison Joffrey, and in fact she wouldn't be queen if he hadn't killed their father in the shitter.

Jon played it smart by letting Bran tell the girls the truth... does it come back to bite him in the ass? who knows. Yes, I would have liked to see their reactions even with Sansas' being predictable... as for Arya... she is a hard one to read... look at the scene when she rides with whats his name on her list and her response to him leaving Winterfell.

Jon / Ghost... hard to say... basically those two(2) have been like that over the seasons... guess they both understand each other than some viewers would like to acknowledge because of their own sensitivity.

Oh yeah... Dire wolves are the Starks banner and have been that symbol of the North for centuries... well that is how I take it from Season 1.

Theory for next episode and maybe other things to come.
Who kills Mountain (think that is his name?) The boyfriend of the woman he beheaded at the gate or the Hound? I go with the Hound still, but, I would love to be wrong.
Who kills Cersei? Jaimie, based on what he said to big lady before he left.
Who kills Danni? Well... it is looking like one of her advisors, but I am going to say Arya because Danni tries to kill Jon.

Anyway... my 2 cents worth, even though a lot of people will just think it is a recap of what has already been said... i am missing a few things, but it is getting too long.

EDIT: how does Danni portray herself as a Mad Queen? My interpretation of that statement is "NUTS/BONKERS" like the Mad King that Jamie killed? If it is in reference that she is the ANGRY Queen, then why the fuck not, damn I have bashed a guy in the face for attempting to kick my dog, same thing happened when my best mate got sucker hit from behind with a chair, I retaliated. Thing is, woman are worse then men, she is livid and planning the most vicious way to kill Cersei now... of course she should be angry with all the crap that has happened to her... be honest with yourselves... that shit happen to you in real life, you would be in the same boat.

I don't really see the problem with the dragon death. Team Cersei had one scorpion that wasn't strong enough to kill Drogon, and then they got absolutely massacred. This original scorpion was shown to penetrate the bare skull of Balerion at a short distance, but failed against live dragonscale at greater distances. So it makes perfect sense that they would try to develop a more powerful weapon. Then they proceed to arm several ships with them and place them atop of castles. It's basic military adaptation. It's exactly what people do in real-time strategy games against overpowered airborne units, they upgrade their towers and crowd their bases with them. Examples like this can be found in real-world history, too.

There's also the possibility that Daenarys simply didn't see the ballistae on the ships because of the distance even if she saw the ships themselves. This somewhat contradicts the lethality argument because it makes believing in the deadliness of the arrow/javelin more of a stretch because of the greater distance needed for the lack of visibility argument. The Night King's javelin is also probably magical and the Night King probably is able to magically hurl them, so we don't count that here. Dany remembers that the scorpion wasn't a big threat. It also portrayed a little bit of recklessness.

All in all this discussion reminds me of "jet fuel can't melt steel beams". It's true, but didn't make the failure of the structures any less probable because you only need to soften the beams for them to collapse. Similarly, simply saying the distance was too much for a scorpion we know to be lethal is imo lazy, because it assumes that team Cersei are morons who would again rely on a weapon that didn't stop the carnage the last time... but after all it's just 2 powrful dragons they're pitted against, nothing more, eh? Qyburn isn't stupid and Cersei probably pushed the development of weapons because she only saw 2 dragons, not 3. It should also be noted that while the North got ravaged by the undead, the South had all the time, money and peace it needed to properly prepare against the North. It was Cersei's plan.

I'm not saying this is correct, but it is imo plausible. I personally think the show has taken a turn to the worse, but i always play devil's advocate and peoole have indeed been dissing this season with ridiculous arguments so there's that, too. Killing the dragons is how Cersei wins this war so i see no reason why they wouldn't focus on it. Whether or not the accuracy/luckiness of the 3 shots is plausible is a different debate.

Edit: also, the dragon got shot in season 7 in a non-vital spot. It was his wing or shoulder. Rhaegal was shot in the chest, then neck, then head.

The conflict isn't between Jon and Dany. It is between their supporters. It is causing a rift as shown by Tyrion and Varys disagreeing on what to do. Dany and Jon still love each other. I think they are just hyping up a potential civil war just to have one or both of them die before any actual conflict takes place.
