Raiden was awful in this film. Lambert is one of the low points of the original movie with how forced/terrible everything he does it, but i'd still take him over the new one.

Anyone who wasn't expecting a cheesy action film with subpar (to outright horrible) acting and a bad plot, has some weird expectations for a freaking MK movie lol. It was exactly what I thought it would be, Ninja Assassin but Mortal Kombat, the added delight of Kano being solid throughout was much appreciated and made the rest of the cringe dialogue bearable.

Is there a way to check if Chinese theaters got a different version of the movie?

I know that studios do this often. Perhaps the American version focused on Cole while the Chinese version relegated him to a minor role and followed a Chinese protagonist.

This would explain why things could seem a bit jumbled.

Maybe he is a known character, but his ability won't take its full form until the next film. It seems like since they wanted to make Scorpion and Zero the focus, they knew if they made a known character an ancestor of Scorpion, that heads would roll, since nerds lose their fucking shit when people just drastically change details of a character.

Making up a new character allowed them to take liberties in this film and presumably the next, that they wouldn't have been able to otherwise.

Either way, it could have worked if they didn't cast so fucking horribly. He was by far the weakest point of the film for me. Outside Kano all the acting/dialogue was cringey as fuck, but some of them at least had decent delivery/range, but Cole was fucking awful.

Haha, ya, that was no fucking notch. There were a couple of really good moments, Kano screeching back at reptile and then ripping out his heart was one of my favorite moments.

This was the jam for me

All four of the top moments are pretty interchangeable.

Subzero arm freeze is probably my favorite
But could also say

Kano heart pull
Kung Lao saw face
Or Jax head slap and I couldn't argue lol.

IMO Goro and Kabal kills were low tier, with Scorpion+Cole over Sub, the insta kill body shot, and Tsung all being better, but not as great as the top four.

nerds on here just strait HATE!

The fatalities alone got me stoked for the fatalities of the sequel.

Being a fan of the game I just love that they actually made it brutal. It wasn't a good movie but I liked it.

I mean yeah it was expected but seriously...I didn't expect it to be so bad, I had to force my self to finish it
