Honestly I'm 100% sure that people are hating on the show just because it's the new cool thing to do.

Theres plenty of little things I can nitpick at; like Jaime and Brienne, they way they cut off Bran Telling Sansa and Arya about Jon(not allowing us to see their reactions), Gendry falling in love after 1 fuck, etc...

But the idea of turning Dany heel that fast.... her turning to the 'mad queen', little bit of a stretch. It took her dad YEARS AND YEARS to become 'mad', shes gonna turn mad from 1 dead dragon and a dead slave? Seems rushed, just like the last 2 seasons as a whole. Sure they added a bit more to the 'burning in side of her' showing how the North rallies around Jon, and how the truth is about to leak, Jon rejecting her in general... but still, seems too rushed.

Dany becoming the Mad Queen is a theory that had been brewing since S8E1 started throwing out feelers in that general direction. And the prospect of that had even been talked about as far back as when she crucified the Wise Masters. She was asking Selmy about his perspective, comparing her actions to her father.

Is it rushed? Yes, absolutely. Same as S7. Soon as the show runners figured out the timeline they had to work in, things started to feel rushed. But I don't see that as something to complain about.

As for the Gendry thing, it seemed fine to me. He fucks her, he survive a battle that felt to him like the apocalypse, he has the whole room cheer his named after he's declared a Lord, and he's probably been drinking. The combination of these things and his youth can get him to say something stupid like that.

She's always been like this.... Since the death of Khal Drago she's been an absolute nutter that loses her shit when she's defied. This is just the first time anyone has actually hurt her and she's lost almost everything in an incredibly short span of time. She lost one of her closest friends and confidants, someone who'd been there from the beginning. And now beside Grey Worm (a grunt she can't really talk with), she's arguably lost the last person she could confide it and truly trust to always support her. She doesn't trust Tyrion, Jon, or anyone anymore (for valid reason too) and her dragons, her children are dying in front of her.
