Tyrion is one of the flattest characters on the show. That's not an opinion it's a fact. He has had basically zero character development since season 1.

He started the show as a "woe is me because I'm a dwarf and my family hates me, except my brother" with a hint of "I use my intelligence and cleverness to disguise how much this pains me, but you can still see it in my eyes and face" and that's been the character ever since. Literally hasn't changed in 8 seasons.
