This generation of story telling is absolutely fucking dead when John Wick is the pinnacle of action movies.

They have created some of if not the best action sequences in film history. It clearly isn't a film like The Departed or Unforgiven that relies heavily on dialogue and story. No one walks in expecting that.

That being said it also didn't have horrible dialogue or a bad story. It isn't Oscar worthy but that paired with elite action scenes is what made it so successful and loved. They perfected the literal most important part of an action movie.....I mean it's in the fucking name of the genre.


Some action movies have had better stories, acting, dialogue, etc. But there isn't a single movie that has came close to the amount of good action packed violence that the John Wick franchise has. Every single movie that tried similar approaches of a one man army were beyond corny and included nothing but fast cuts and shitty stunts.

I mean if you are blind and dumb and simply consume product that they force feed you then yes you can find a positive or two about the movie.

I enjoyed it.

Finally watched it, better late than never (well actually not really considering the following :) ).

I Really didnt enjoy it much and in fact did alot of Skipping (I loved the first movie and the second one was watchable too). I found the Blind guy in particular absolutely unbearable. I know what they were going for but honestly, while I am aware that the movie obviously isnt supposed to be realistic anyway, him being able to hang with the other elite assassins, let alone being one of the best ones was just too unbelievable, even within the John Wich Universe.

5/10 for me
