I think loving this episode and considering it one of the best ever is more millennial.... so easily manipulated by cgi and sword fights.

I don't think it's one of the best ever.

I just don't think it's trash for the most ridiculous reasons.

Winds of Winter is still by far the best episode of the series.

I mean did you not watch the first 99% of the episode? Or the series? There is like a 10 minute scene of Arya dancing around the dead and not being seen. Not to mention she easily sneaks up on Jon in the gods wood. Plus we have seen her do that hand swap trick before... She has been training for this basically her entire life. She is legitimately a fantastic assassin and she assassinated the fuck out of the NK.

Also I just rewatched that scene and before Arya jumps at the NK they show a white walker look down and to the side, presumably seeing her, which is why the NK knew to turn and catch her.

So why did the wights stay at the edges of the frozen lake and let the crew out in the middle?

The show gives us the impression that he was laying a trap for a dragon. How did he know that a dragon would come?

The overarching problem is just the pacing of the resolution of plot points. Last episode was a welcome change of pace, where we got some actual character moments (not just cut -> quip -> scene). All the retarded decisions in writing are being made because there is such a stringent time limit on events and plot threads to resolve. Remember that HBO wanted 2 10 episode seasons for what is now 6 episodes. The writers (Weiss and Benioff) should have been replaced as soon as they got burnt out on the series, it is showing and has been showing for a while.

The bad thing is that there was so much potential. The Dothraki charge, the dragon battle under the moonlight, Arya's escape through the castle, there were so many visually interesting moments. But the writing really went full capeshit. You never go full capeshit.

She was wrapped into white walker that was walking alongside with Night King...? Was it not obvious or something...he even winked at you

Arya was night walker....she wrapped into him.with her faceless man skills even red woman referenced to that when she said she will have brown, green and blue eyes...

Pretty sure the red woman said she will close many eyes not have brown eyes ( at least not in that last episode )

Also unlikely she’d change into a white walker as she’d have to of killed one.
