I think a better ending to this episode would of been a few of the survivors running south in retreat and night king regrouping and advancing south.

Yep. Would've been better.

Tbf, I've always been team White.

Definitely didn't like how easily they got dealt with. Way too many main characters survived too.

The White Walkers don't talk. They are supposed to just symbolize death. Their backstory was already covered a few seasons ago as well.

They actually foreshadowed Arya killing the NK from the very first episode. Her showing up Bran with how much better of a fighter she was even as a child, her learning from the first sword of Bravos and the whole telling death not today, meeting the Red Woman and her realizing she was going to be important, the Hound showing her where the heart is, the whole arc of her being a faceless man which basically worships the God of Death, her getting the catspaw dagger from Bran in the very same spot she would use it to kill the NK, and her using the very same move she would use to kill the NK while training with Brienne.

It gave purpose to her going through 7 seasons of becoming the fighter she is today.

The NK isn't even the main villain of the show either. They made it seem like the Iron Throne was a red herring and didn't matter. Having the show end with the characters they spent years developing fight it out is a lot better than having it end with them fighting an army of the undead. I'm glad they are focusing more on the fight with Cersei. It is called Game of Thrones for a reason...

the show is called game of thrones because the first book was called game of thrones, the series is called a song of ice and fire

tbh they spent so much effort and time building up to winter and the war of the living vs the dead that fighting over who gets the throne just feels trivial now

friend just sent me this:

the dothraki scene where they all die and their lights go out was good but it should've been ONE SHOT, instead of all these dumb jump cuts to everyone being like "oh wow im looking at this thing you obviously already know im looking at" and it should've happened faster to make it more harrowing like they all just fuckin disappeared and we dont know wtf that happened

also NOBODY should've come back alive, if jorah was just unceremoniously killed off like that i woulda nutted from how hard GoT played me, but NO the writers are pussies and wont do anything like that anymore, every main character now dies in slow motion with sad music over the course of like 20 fuckin mins

except i guess they killed ghost off since i don't remember seeing him after the charge

Grey Worm sacrificed a bunch of them when he closed the fire-moat. We'll see how many of the unsullied are alive. They'll need a few, as 100% of the dothraki were sacrificed for absolutely no reason other than a cool visual (which I'm thankful for, btw).

yeah, but after the carnage in the courtyard i had the impression that there is almost nothing left of the army of the living
we will see (hopefully)

and yes, charging into the night when you cant see shit was extremely clever

Yeah, it's hard to try and determine the amount of usable solders that are left after the night king's party. Interesting to think that Cersei has 20K mercenaries and whatever's left of the Lannister Army.

We've got a battered, bloodied, and depleted northern army with unsullied and 1 dragon (assuming Jon's died in the fight with the undead one).

Seems extremely lopsided at the moment.

How funny would it be though if Cersei defeats Dany and takes the throne at the end. That would be the bravest move on the writers part, but people would probably cry and complain about it.

She has the largest army and has proven herself to be the most ruthless in her tactics.
