I remember liking it quite a bit but it's been a while, hows it hold up?

The Thirteenth Floor (1999 on HBO) - kinda cool scifi movie. Leans more into the neo noir genre than true scifi cuz most of the screen time is focused more on the story than the tech. I liked it more than I thought I would. For some reason I always like seeing Vincent D'Onofrio on screen and all the other actors werent big time A-listers either. Dialogue is solid, story is decent (ending was kinda meh), and the scenes are well done.

Beyond the Black Rainbow - A little too schizo for me lol. I can absolutely appreciate and respect the tone the movie sets with the music and the sets and the acting tho. Definitely reminds me of the movie Mandy. Cant say I'd watch it again but it wasnt too incoherent the way some artsy shit is. I can see some people loving this movie but it's just not my jam.

Hell ye glad to hear it.

The East (2013 on HBO) - Pretty solid movie. Prevents itself from being too preachy by presenting the characters as zealots/fanatics that are motivated by just causes. There's a couple of plot holes but nothing so bad it ruins the movie. Overall solid watch.

Ya it kinda plays like that but it's got another layer to it that makes it much more watchable than that would be.

End of the Road

Wife saw Queen Latifah and Ludacris and could not help herself, and I watched it with her. It was painful. There's this running theme for a while now that a cast of black actors/actresses can't be in a movie without portraying 'white people' as redneck, raping hillbillies. It's really unsettling to watch this theme over and over again, especially when it's done so lazily. This movie was gut wrenching bad.

The Gentleman looks cool Ill check that out
End of the Road looks pretty awful so I'll check that out too lmao

Licorice Pizza (2021 - not free anywhere) - Honestly pretty good. Story kinda meanders sometimes and there's scenes where you wonder what the point is but that's okay. Some funny scenes, good dialogue, well acted, hard to complain when it checks the right boxes.
