Well it could have been the most important part for a lot of people.
Depends on your perspective and what parts of the show you find interesting.

But its all about the game of thrones for me.

I'm fine with the fact that the undead thread is resolved with 3 eps remaining in the series. I'm fine with the choice of having Arya be the one to do it. A substantial amount of effort has been devoted to her importance as a character and her combat ability. I'm not going to nitpick over the choreography of the final moment. I'll give small things the benefit of the doubt.

What I am mad about, however, is that the NK is one of the worst villains in TV history. All this time and effort was put into making us want to know more about him. What was so special about Craster's babies? Why can he ride a dragon? Has he eliminated the CotF now? What's so special about Winterfell to him? How is his magic related to the other "gods" and the Targaryens? How does it tie into the significance of Jon's heritage?

Instead, we got nothing. Essentially, the undead were nothing but a generic external threat whose purpose was to weaken the main army. The wildlings could have performed this role even better than WWs. Mance Rayder could have been the villain of the North. That would have been good. Instead, Mance was killed off and replaced with a blank space of a character.

How whole goal (killing 3ER) was revealed to us about an hour before it was resolved. And in the end, that goal ended up affecting nothing in the story.

If a show wants to have mindless zombie killing machines, that's fine. Plenty of movies/shows have gotten away with that because they never pretend to build up the zombies as anything more than that. The zombies on TWD serve that purpose just fine: they create challenges for the main cast to deal with and also occasionally kill some meaningful characters.

with all the hype about the fight of the living against the dead i am rather disappointed how it turned out

it was epic entertainment, but there are so many unsolved questions
the NK is nothing but a mindless "gotta kill them all" machine, who got killed by a girl
making arya a superhero assassin really makes no sense to me, she SUCKED at training on every turn, but suddenly overwhelms dozens of people to bake them into a pie and now kills the villain of the show in 10 seconds after appearing out of nowhere
now i guess she kills cersei as well and sails west into the sunset to end the show

what also bothered me is that tens of thousands get overwhelmed by the dead, but a handful of main characters hold their position in the courtyard for like half the episode while it appears that they are almost alone there

still loved the episode, but the writing has become really meh with so many meaningless scenes and loose ends

now its time for some real game of thrones and more humane stuff

I agree 100% about show limitations and there was a lot of problems to pick apart with that episode. Jorah magically appearing to save Dany being an obvious one.

They should have explained/shown how the night king comes to an end. It's an integral part of the story and they decided that hazy cut scenes and the flying dragon scenes were more important than showing how Arya was able to kill the major villain. The surprise was given away once Millesandra or whatever her name is gave her eye color speech and Arya bolted. You knew she was going to kill him.

A little context would go a long way. The night king's end battle should have been a little more epic than a 5 second stabbing by a flying squirrel lmao.

Maybe she was up in the trees, who knows? That's the problem.

I kinda feel like I'm in the first stage of grief over seeing my favorite show turn to ashes in my mouth.

Right now, a big part of me needs to believe there is something deeper that's actually going to be revealed, like that Bran manipulated Arya into killing NK so that Bran could be later revealed as the final villain.

But then there's that rational voice in the back of my head telling me no. Clever twists are a thing of the past, we've been reduced to the same old hierarchy of plot armor.

to much dark scenes and fast frames i was like wtf is going on half the time hate that shit


overall big letdown for me to much unnecessary stuff added to make it like hey 82min episode but 30 min of quality content and alot of wtf moments pce see you next episode


show is turning into lost amazing seasons then turns to shit because we're all wtf
