Red River (1948)

John Wayne actually acted in this one. His character's progression reminds me of James Dean's in Giant, from a self-made successful individual to someone who's become obsessed with that success and basically destroys themselves. Was cool to see that. And I ain't no homo but Montgomery Clift is one handsome fella.

I recently watched The Running Man

Of course, it feels terribly dated and Ahnold's bad acting doesn't help either. But it was a lot better than I remember it being back in the day.

A lot of the themes matured very well and are arguably more impactful today than in 1987. It's dystopian elements feel more prophetic and less satirical.
