imo they let arya through and the night king knew she was behind him, clearly. They just expected him to whoop her and proceed I assume.

that said it is what arya trained for as an assassin, and there was foreshadowing showing that she would sneak up on the night king, like in the same spot with jon snow, among other examples.

Woulda liked to get to see cercei have to deal with the army of the dead tho

Training to be a warrior is not the same as training to be an assassin. Assassins specialize in killing a target while warriors train to best a foe face to face with traditional weapons.

Assassins are way more scary with fewer enemies.
But in a war the warrior is much more valuable because of endurance and strength to keep fighting with plate mail on.

Until the enemy commander literally walks into the field of battle of course.

Considering the nk is dead already and we have 3 episodes remaining i'd wager that it really was not the most important part of the series.

You sound really emotional. Calm down, we all get predictions wrong.

It was probably not executed in the best possible way, but I'm glad the episode got rid of the white walkers plot bs. Now we can get back to the good stuff: the game of thrones.

I'm also glad that the majority of characters were spared, so they can get a better death than a cheap "killed by a random zombie while trying to protect someone".

Isn't explaining how she couldn't the same grasping at straws as explaining how she might have?
