I don't really like the comparison of those two things. Tbh I always thought ww was a bit of a Mary Sue. Ozark always feels like the guy is on the verge of being murdered.
@3billboards obviously I'm totally on team torture the fuck out of that asshole. But I do hope that when thinking about the ending you do go a bit deeper than that aspect.
Of course, but I'm a nihilist at heart and I weave these entertaining tales to distract myself from the persistently gnawing but more realistic outcome, or at least it's what I consider to be the most realistic outcome. I see no hope, and if I'm being 100% honest with myself about the ending, I believe they turn back without understanding or obtaining anything and they return in a state even more broken and hopeless than when this all began. I understand the potential benefits and understanding that this journey could bring, but I'm disinclined to believe that these individuals are capable of positive self-discovery or letting go of the past.
I like your approach so much more, but it's just not how I saw this ending playing out at all. Which goes back to why I'm still trying to convince myself that this turned into a Tarantino style revenge saga lol.
