Literally nothing in the first episode is book accurate, and it's not like it's minimal things that don't matter. It was huge changes that completely ruin entire characters.

It's not supposed to be some Chris Columbus 1:1 port.

This is not the turning of the wheel from the books, it's an adaptation and for good reason.

A decent start, much like GoT and Shadow & Bone etc, starting slowly by building, we'll see where it goes.

I like the casting. Rosamund Pike is excellent as always and I liked Madeleine Madden's work in Picnic at Hanging Rock and Tidelands, she didn't disappoint.

Notice how I said the changes ruin characters?

Perrin changed from a socially awkward guy with a giant heart who is always concerned about everyone around him, making sure he doesn't accidentally hurt anyone because of his size into a married wife murderer?

Nynaeve changed from having good parents, and a good father who taught her how to move and survive in the woods into an orphan raised by a single woman. Which has a bigger impact because...

Lan is supposed to be the BEST Warder but he literally doesn't warn them of anything, he is always the last to see the threat instead of knowing of the threat before it's upon them. Nynaeve sneaking up on him is supposed to be a big deal, because her father taught her, instead he just looks incompetent.

Egwene and Rand are supposed to be deeply in love, instead it seems like they can barely stand eachother and want to break up as to not "hold back egwenes career" so to speak. Don't see the point in that change ether.

The Dragon reborn is a man yet in the show it could also be a woman, why? What's the point of that?

Mat, Perrin and Rand go with Moiraine because they could be the Dragon, Egwene and Nynaeve go as well to protect them because in the books the women actually have character depth and agency. In the TV show that agency and depth is given up for toxic feminist "look at how bad men are" garbage.

And the main thing that can never be forgiven is not giving Bella her proper spot in the light.

The only legit point you have here is the whole ambiguity of whether or not the Dragon Reborn is a man or woman, even in the context of this iteration I agree that doesn't make sense.

Everything else is just differences from the books and your opinion on them. Try to just enjoy the show for what it is; I'm stoked to have a major production of WoT at all.

Edit: TBH The beginning of ep 3 is pretty bad so far lol but that's my first major complaint :P

It's not just a difference from the books, it's changing entire characters for no reason. There is literally no reason to Nynaeve have a scene explaining how she is an orphan from outside of the two rivers instead of a scene talking about what her father taught her. And in fact it makes her character make far less sense. How did she sneak up on Lan? Why is the old blood strong in her when she isn't from the area and doesn't have the old blood?

There is no reason to have Perrin have a wife he kills instead of being socially awkward. Changes his entire fucking character arc and motivations for literally no reason.

There is no reason to m to have the dragon be maybe a woman except to force the female characters into going with the rest, which just removes their agency as going to help the boys is no longer an active choice they made.

Edit: and none of that is even mentioning the horrible "the source isn't meant for men, men taint it and make it unclean" scene.

The books are literally the least sexist story in all of fantasy fiction, so why is the TV show extremely sexist against men?
