We all know why this movie was nominated. And it’s not because of the movie itself.

It was the same as every other Marvel movie. Wonder Woman and Black Panther were pretty much the same shit, neither of them were horrible movies, but neither of them were good. They're nothing more than run-of-the-mill superhero movies with a bad/bland story, terrible acting, lazy humor, and never ending KRAPLOW!!! I get why your average fan loves this shit, but Hollywood doing the ultra PC thing and throwing nominations/awards at any movie with a minority/female lead, just makes everyone lose interest and it makes the entire thing a giant joke.

Best thing to do is just ignore this level of idiocy.

Wonder woman had a better message and actual character development. It fell to shit in the last act for sure but up to that point it was pretty good... Other than the 20 year old 300 action filming style, but it worked for me personally.

Black Panther on the other hand was a hot racist mess.

That movie fucking shot itself in the foot with the last act.

The whole movie preaches that there is no all powerful evil, that it's the evil in all men we have to be wary of. I loved it, it was like fucking FINALLY someone is doing this right. Then out of nowhere, na, fuck that message we've been pushing the entire movie, here's ARES!!! It was the same shit man and Gal is a terrible actress, she's just really pretty.

Both were equally mediocre and pointless imo. Neither deserved the insane amount of praise they got.

I think gal is perfect for wonder woman tbh. I think she did really well in the Wonder woman movie because she perfectly did that whole fish out of water thing. Whether you think that's just who she is and she is a bad actress, or if she actually acted well, doesn't matter imo because it's what that character needed to be. Kind of like Aubrey Plaza. Is she a good actress? I mean a lot of people like her, but she always plays the same role, usually specifically written to coincide with who she actually is as a person.. So like really she is a shit actress with writers writing around that fact.


I'll wait to see the next movie before passing more judgement.

That's exactly why Aubre never gets main roles in anything other than indie flicks. She's fine as a supporting character playing the bitch, but like Gal, she doesn't have nearly enough range or talent to play a lead. Wasn't complaining about the "fish out of water" thing, was more so complaining about her deadpan delivery, annoying accent and that she has the emotional range of a potato. She's drop-dead gorgeous and that's why it's so easy to overlook all of her shortcomings, but cover your eyes and just listen and she's straight unbearable.

I don't have any issues with her accent.

Bad actress or not, at least she tries, which is more than you can say for Micheal B Jordan in Black Panther. He has never looked so fucking bored in a role before.
