Hey gang,

Looking for suggestions on a laptop to replace my wife's dying Toshiba. Her main uses are school, so she will do web browsing and some light MS office work (excel, word, PowerPoint, etc). Perhaps some light photo editing with Photoshop but nothing intensive.

Ideally I'd like one with a ssd, 256gb is fine but more is great. Speed and ease of use is key. Don't need a fancy touch screen. 4gb ram minimum, 6-8 ideal.

Thoughts?

Here's one I'm considering, and I'm willing to donate some fg if someone comes up with a better one that I end up buying.

wont find anything for that price that can do your tasks in a good way.

and lol 4gb ram. hf with permanent graphic lags. no quadcore in 2k17 is a waste of money.

would aim for something higher priced that will work with the stuff you mentioned in a fluid manner. that i3 will die from photoshop in a splitsecond lol

something like this is only 250$ more and a perfect machine for your tasks, even heavier tasks if she plans to use photoshop like for real and not just for a filter for a facebook pic.

It's an old dual core toshiba, 3gb ram, 5400rpm hd, pretty sure it's Intel hd gfx I know it doesn't have a dedicated card.

Left keypad button is starting to break, screen has a few dead pixels, and it's overall slow. It works fine for what she needs as far as power goes. I just want to impress her with something with a ssd and more ram / faster cpu.

She plays no games so it won't be used for that. And she ran Photoshop on the pos toshiba just fine, she's not editing video.

Shop around on *** (edit: popular auction site name apparently blocked on jsp)
You have to invest a little time but I have always managed to buy something nice way under-priced.
Last Laptop was a 4 month month old one with a broken Blueray burner paid $350 instead of 1k+
