Or...it's a powerful load of BS to get Windows users to upgrade to pay 2 play Windows 10.
We've already seen reports that Intel has used very biased benchmarks...and Microsoft used an Intel benchmark (only) in this article.
The 2nd bolded sentence also tells us that Dx12 CAN be ported to Win 7 and probably Win 8 and 8.1 as well.

I saw that as well, I'm not sure it's still relevant though. I can't find any info on whether it will be a subscription service or not...since Jan 21-22 2015.
The other concern is the fact that it will be a cloud based OS, which begs the question...will you even own your OS (Win 10). Will Microsoft be able to brick your OS if you do something they don't like?

There's no reason for Microsoft to say it again since the Jan 20 statement was an official press release.

it won't be.. some people just misread the info cos they were high af or something..
it's pretty much the exact same routine when windows 8 first came out, they offered ppl windows 8 for only $15 if they recently got their windows 7 within a year 8 came out.
This time, it's not $15.. it's free.
