True, but enough have the library to do it.

Activision/ Blizzard (already partially doing it), Microsoft (Windows 8 will have it), Bethesda, EA (Origin), Konami, Ubisoft, Capcom, Take 2.....

Some of those may be able to sustain it I suppose. Not all of them though. You are right though, I dont want to go to 40 programs/places to get my games.

Well you already pretty much have those. Blizzards is just website based.

If publishers see a chance at a profit, they may jump at it. Using other distributors costs them money.

They will be able to sustain it, if the only way to get MW6 on PC is to go through Activision's digital distribution service, or Elder Scroll's VII is to go through Bethesda's then they will find a way to make it happen.

That way they get to keep 100% of the revenue, use their own DRM (see: crazy ass Ubisoft), shit like that.
