The devs on twitter (bf3.immersedcode.org if you guys want to follow along) have mentioned 80 channel surround sound on PC, EAX certified. They're going all out with the audio set up this time around. It's going to be like BC2 War Tapes on steroids. I've already got a decent rig, but this game is going to be forcing me to upgrade my audio setup.
Also, cpu gonna be just as important as gpu in this game. It'll actually use all of your cores. They've made the engine scale to an arbitrary number of cores. They're using task-oriented parallelism and load-balancing task schedulers. The devs on twitter have mentioned it scaling up to 32-cores.

CPU will be just as important as the GPU for this game. I'd say you need at least a quad-core, unless you want to be playing this game on low at 720p.
Quad core at 720p would bottleneck worse though. Also, HAHA! BP told me when this was announced 6 cores wouldn't do better. It's either BD or SB-E for me.
