There's nothing wrong with Weller. Used them daily for years and years with no problems. Commercial and industrial use too.

Yeah, lol. Same company. And they were around 40 years before I used them.
I mean... ya do have to remember to turn them off when not in use, and to keep the tips clean. But other than that... they just work... day after day after year after year.

I'll stick with Weller.
When I say daily use, I mean literally every day, quite a bit of the day as well. Dad was electrician, I was electronics. Both of us used the crap out of Weller. He was mostly the solder gun type use, where I was the soldering iron type use. Once every two years or so, had to replace the tips, which were cheap and readily available. Other than that, zero complaints.

Yes, I have use cordless non-Weller as well. They were OK for very small work, like a transistor lead or similar. But they didn't work well for repeated soldering. They just couldn't recover fast enough, and ofc they lose charge all the time.

We don't need to have a tuckus or the like... different strokes for different folks I guess. :)

/e On a side note... just googled best soldering stations. Weller in every price group, and a lot of, what look to me like knock offs. Out of all of them, Weller appears most often.

/ee And if ya wanna go really high quality...it's Weller yet again...

From what decade, surely not something you can power with a lipo pack, or just as easily a wall wart for non mobile use. These aren't a few watt battery irons or butane ones. They surely won't replace a several hundred dollar station but for the use case and versatility it's unbeatable.

I didn't like cordless. They were useless outdoors, and even indoors, they just can't keep up.
I mean, all Weller does is make soldering stations, and soldering accessories. They been doing that for longer than I've been alive. :)

I have no clue why Weller's website links don't work, but here's some eye candy.
A $30k rework station. :)

/e Anyway, just Google: Weller soldering stations ...it should be the first result.

LOL. I'll pass. There's quite a few loopholes in that video bro. Like using the wrong tip on the Weller for the job, just to start with.
That tip maybe the best choice for that soyboy iron, but it's definitely wrong for the Weller.

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. But I think you'll find if you need to use an iron all day, every day, you too will pick Weller. Even if you don't need it all day, every day, Weller gives the peace of mind, that when you do drag it out of the tool box or w/e... it'll will still work, For years.

/e Here... have some cordless Weller irons... even butane powered. :D
