It came off as apologetic about a shitty business's shitty mark-ups as if supporting them anyway were some moral imperative and it is foolish to question it.

How is it a "shitty mark-up"? Not only do they put in the work to compile all the parts in a pretty little neat package, but they also do the shit work of installing the OS, all drivers and perform quality checks to assure everything is stable. That takes a lot of time and labor. It's a big overhead. It's a service. Obviously if you have the know-how and passion to want to do it yourself then you can do it yourself, but this is a business. They have to be able to afford cost of parts and labor durp. Go ahead and start your own business and charge dog shit dirt cheap prices and see how successful your business becomes.

over $81 for "professional" gpu installation. If I could make even 1/4th that going around sliding graphics cards into slots and installing drivers I'd do it but Amazon probably wouldn't sponsor me.

I don't get it...

There computers are very reasonably priced for those not wanting/willing to do it themselves. That mark-up isn't bad at all.

If you think that's bad don't go and buy shoes anymore.

$1 in material yet you pay someone $70 to assemble it for you, when if you wanted you could do it yourself

First it's a lot more than $1 in material; not crazy but probably closer to $5.
Second you're also paying labor/end costs going into that shoe.
Third if your paying over like $30 for a pair of regular shoes, your paying for that good ol swoosh in the side.

I agree

I think there are some all around quality prebuilts out there for a the price
not always but I have ran into many through many companies with a nice psu and mobo included

time is money and how much do you value your free time so having it done for you is great for you
if building interests you then build away

I get that its a business but here for example, Canada computers will do it for this much...

"Standard System Assembly - Includes a 1 year parts and labour warranty $79.99"

Most local retailers will assemble for 50$ flat rate.
what people should also factor in is that this is in cad land and 220 USD equates to 300$ realistically for us.
Thats about a 5-6x mark up vs other options that are already available.

The parts are fair pricing but the service pricing isn't exactly competitive.

One of the examples is widely legal and the other is illegal almost everywhere. Not the same. The troll is strong.

Plus it doesn’t even make sense, sex is always more physically demanding.

Im genuinely curious if you can order everything and they ship it to you already assembled or do you have to go buy the parts and then pick it up for assembly/once assembled.

The only company I know that does it here you have to buy the part yourself then take them in and pay for assembly then go pick it up.

I know you’re an idiot but it’s thanksgiving so I thought I would make you thankful for the education I received in college. I support legal prostitution because it reduces violent crime against sex workers. It also drastically reduces drug abuse and victims of human trafficking.

Just thought I would take a moment to show you that you’re an idiot. Happy Thanksgiving.
