Hopefully the new CPUs won't have the built in flaw, that's been being exploited. (Spectre and Meltdown.. etc.)

Spoiler: they do.

If I built a new rig based on intel
9900k
64gb
4tb ssd
Rtx 2080

How would that compare to same rig but with amd cpu/mobo instead?

Right now... Intel / Nvidia are still the king.

True... Not for long tho.
AMD has similar IPC, just falls behind in clock speed and cache latency (for gaming purposes).
If AMD is able to offer near 5ghz clocks on zen2, which will probably be on shelves q3 2019, I honestly think Intel will be behind in single threaded performance for the first time in a while.
I do think it will be quite a while until AMD is competitive with Nvidia on the high end graphics market tho.
Hopefully they do what they did on the CPU front; take their time and develop something amazing, not rush something out just to drag the game out. From rumors I've heard, it will be 2020 before we see Navi on the consumer side, so I have faith and just have to wait it out.

why is people so mad at this launch? its not like we dident know the specs allready... i guess the price, or the fact i7 is not the best anymore

9900k will probably be really good tho, and some of these z390 motherboards looks insane..

The term you're looking for is "over-engineered."

Software and firmware fixes are just patches. It doesn't solve the vulnerability in totality as the issue is at the hardware level and is a flaw in the way in the which the processor is designed. They won't have full hardware solutions for quite a while.

what?
patches are everywhere you act like this isnt common and the fact that they did squeeze in 2 hardware on top

tell me how these have vulnerabilities now?
