They weren't anything remarkable" probably sounds like a knock and casts Dead Island into some folks' "been there and done that" pile, but it doesn't for me. Dead Island isn't reinventing the wheel. It's borrowing pieces of other undead games we've seen before (Left 4 Dead's co-op and perspective, Dead Rising's weapons and leveling, etc.) and combining them for an experience zombie nuts like myself are going to want to play. I want to take a character to the level cap in this game, I want to play through the quests that come on crumpled up sheets of loose leaf, and I want to see how many dead guys I can take out. Dead Island isn't its trailer, but it sure is interesting
