Speaking of overclocking!! Time for some overclocking news!!

EVGA, Kingpin, and Tin set a new world record. Damn I love world record setting when it happens every year.. lol The Kingpin with release with a 14+3 power phase VRM design. 14 phases for the GPU core and 3 phases for the VRAM. Rumor has it that the Kingpin will be 6GB VRAM as well. Though for now, and from what I can see on the GPU-Z report, it looks to have only 3GB at the moment. Mind you, Nvidia will most likely not lift the restriction on 6GB cards as that is reserved for their Titan line up.
(In all reality Nvidia wants that $$$ to crush AMD so they probably will re-release the Kingpin a few months down the line [1-2 tops] with a 6GB version.)

Moving on!

MSI is cranking out a super powered version of the 290x. Now this won't be the normal lightning, this is going to be the real deal with 8+8+6 power delivery design, that is 150W more than the reference 290x cards came with. (8+6)
Sporting a ridiculous 12+3+2 power phase design, you can expect the 290x Lightning to overclock like a champ. You might also be able to expect some world record breaking by the time the pros get their hands on this card. Still, very little is know about MSI's 290x Lightning or the 780 Ti lightning but knowing MSI, it will be a monster.

There is also rumor that Gigabyte has something in store for everyone but it's all hush hush atm.

If I find out more I will post it here in the OC thread.

A Chinese company by the name of Colorful, known for making extremely high quality items, has decided to take on the task of making a 780 Ti with a hybrid cooling system. (Mind you Colorful - not Power Color!) The next in the line of iGame GPU's from Colorful.

Introducing the iGame GTX 780 Ti Kudan!!

Mind you this is a variant of ASUS' Poseidon GPU. (only cooler and a 780 Ti not just a 780)

Keep in mind too, you can run the Kudan on both air or water... but wait -- there's more! In fact, you can run the card on water and air at the same time for increase cooling performance. Considering the PCB will let you draw 375W max from the 8+8+PCIe slot, you can expect superb cooling for some great OCs.

This one is for Ghot mainly because of the discussions we used to have regarding PCC.

For those who really want to push the envelope on overclocking, the iGame Titan Ultra with built in Phase Change cooling solution.

And before I go to bed, here is an article on what VRMs are, how they work, and how understanding then can give you a better overclock.

Here is an interesting article on power phases, VRMs, and mosfits, etc.

I think I put too much VTT/QPI into my board and it's why I'm getting the x124 errors.

I'm now to the point where my 2600k cannot compete with the higher scores, i really need to get my hands on a 4960x.
My 4770k could do the job, but it's such a hassle swapping motherboards under a loop.

Let's discuss CPU and heatsink lapping. I think some of you guys may enjoy learning some new techniques.
