I was kinda calling bullshit when I was reading these Brink reviews, and this confirms it from an ars technica article on why they are not reveiwing Brink yet. I read Kotaku's early impressions as well and they seemed to agree for the same reasons.

The fact remains that the game reviewers have been playing for the past week will not be the same game you play at home, and that makes it impossible for me to do my job in an effective manner.
I was reading the reviews and they seemed to be only grading the single player version of the game with the bots....The reason is because that was the only portion available in the review code, unless they waited which most sites didn't.

The way I look at it is that I did not buy this for the SP. The SP to me is just an extended tutorial or a way to raise more exp if the internet ever goes out lol. I buy FPS's for the multiplayer and am thoroughly impressed so far.
