I think it's about being reasonable both ways. if you're at full MP and see someone flashing red, you're a dick to not heal them. If you demand heals constantly, then you have no right to bitch when the healer ignores you.
My simple tips for getting healed?
1: Ask nicely. Sure, you might only have time to type "hp" if you're in a swarm of enemies, but if you're not, a "Can I get a heal?" goes a long way.
2: Stay close to the healer. If he needs a heal himself, he will then heal you in the process. Under no circumstance should you lure enemies onto him though. This is assholeish no matter what, and will likely get you killed if you REALLY need a heal.
3: Give him MP. Even if you don't AGREE with it, the reason he's not healing is probably because he feels the need to keep his mana above a certain level. I have had a total of ONE dude refuse to heal me even after I gave him a MP pot. You can probably just drop the pot but if it's safe enough, I suggest /trading so some random doesn't snatch it up (Yeah mister mystic, your ability is REALLY fucking useful, you should TOTALLY get the MP instead of the healer).
