Mixed batch of A and B.
I spent a lot into my events rogue and he more then doubled (if not tripled) what I put into him and he only netted me around 1.6k fame.
On the flip side, I've had 2k fame characters go down that I pretty much broke even on.
So, imho, fame is just a bonus to whoring gear and will eventually pay out.
