the first time i dropped something for fun to pick it back up...

let's just say I regretted it.

I realized one good purpose of loot chests...

I have always hated them, but now when playing priest again I realize loot chest gives me actual chance for drops ^^

The way I see it you should be required to do a certain amount of damage to the boss in order for the chest to appear for you. If you leach you dont see the chest. It would remove the only issue with the chests.
