Can someone help me out with understanding why I cannot get the runeword mod to work on single player?

I am running patch 1.14d and downloaded the game from blizzard rather than from disk

I have everything correct as much as I can tell from the runes.txt file to the addition of the -direct -txt mod in the startup

Run as admin maybe

tried that, the only thing I haven't tried was running in a window rather than full screen but not sure why it would effect it?

Where did you put the txt file

as a text document under data->global->excel as I think it should be

from everything I've been able to find it should be all correct. I don't have plugy or anything like that installed and the file reads as a text document rather than a BIN file, but from what I've seen that is normal. Target in shortcut reads as "C:\Program Files (x86)\Diablo II\Diablo II.exe" -direct -txt and is being ran as administrator also

If you delete runes.bin and run your game,does it get generated?

just tried it on a whim and no good lol

Then it's a problem with your install. Do you use private servers? Anyway I would just re-install

hmm any way to save my players from single player and put them in to the re install?

I dont remember the path where they're stored. Maybe look for .d2s files hmm
