Tyria and Tyriel - the two sorceress sisters.

No multi windows, all solo play. Leave and rejoin games with the other when relevant. 100% solo muling, never had a game drop so far.

Plan: Do good progress. Quest bug relevant bosses, preferably diablo for simplicity and drops, and baal for experience and drops. I view quest bugging as a very potent advantage that makes the gameplay in Diablo 2 much more fun and worthwhile. A short link on quest bugging:

https://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=71142281

Quest bugging does not work in D2R ... good reason to not play it ^^ (Yes, i don't like D2R .. cheap money grab .. but let's keep that out of here).

Progress so far: Both starts off normal by doing den of evil and getting cold plains waypoint. Of course getting the act 1 merc is vital. One goes ahead, clearing relevant parts of the act, and finding waypoints, according to time or relevance. Leave and rejoin with the other, which then runs the cleared road, and take relevant waypoints. Level up in relevant spots, and then use that character to clear the next act, to boost the level. In act 3, saves huge amount of time by running down travincal stairs and take durance level 2 waypoint. Did about 20 quest bugged diablo runs, got pretty decent gear. Now Tyriel level 39, Tyria level 24 and ready to do ancients - and quest bugged baal runs until level 39-40.

Skills: I usually select fire with sorceress, but went lightning this time. Charged bolt is very effective early on in normal. But static field is my main spell, almost maxed now. It is incredibly effective in normal, at least when it gets to skill level 10-12, not too mana costly, and you can ride the mana pots to upkeep casting. Especially, it is probably the game's best boss killer skill - at least in normal and nightmare. Merc has to take a little pounding, but when monsters' hit points reach ~5% they go down quickly. Also uses lightning to finish off enemies. Tested out thunderstorm, but it's very disappointing. Probably one of the game's worst skills, sadly, because it looks very cool. Got it skilled 5 levels on Tyriel, not doing that on Tyria .. focusing on increasing lightning and maybe nova a bit there. Nova is great if used correctly. But lightning is probably better to just use. Being pixel based, it hits in quite a wide range. Use static about 5 times, then monsters die quickly to lightning. Static maxed covers the entire screen, and a little bit outside. So effective against bosses.

Most of you can probably recognize most of the gear pieces from the picture. One of the luckiest drops i think i've gotten in any ladder reset, is 35% chance guards from Duriel of all bosses, which i almost never get anything worthwhile from.

Weapon: Had to resort to trading for a spirit crystal sword, don't like to trade for help, but this time i decided to. Such a huge upgrade. Not lucky with orbs, globes or spheres... had to use a +1 frozen armor and +1 enchant orb for the longest time. Then a +1 shiver armor and something i don't remember .. and 30 mana. Bad stuff. Spirit was a huge and necessary upgrade.

Shield: Large shield with 2 x flawed diamond and 1 x perfect diamond, giving a decent resist boost. Next upgrade: Probably splendor. As a general tip, i use this table for runeword level requirement, very helpful: https://diablo2.diablowiki.net/Runewords

Armor: Breast plate with 3 x perfect rubies. Gives a huge and almost invaluable hit point boost.

Helmet: Most needing an upgrade; Normal helm with 2 sockets, normal ruby and flawed sapphire. Have a circlet which i can make 2 socket for Lore, or imbue. I can't decide ^^ I don't have sol but can trade for it.

Belt: Using sigon's guard, do have a good rare plated belt, and also goldwrap used to switch before boss kill. Lucky quest bug drop from diablo.

Boots: Tearhaunch. Before that, using a 24% mf, 12% lightning resist pair of boots. Best i could find ^^ Also have sigon's boots.

Amulet: 39 mana. Switch with a 30% mf before boss kill. Also have nokozan relic. Don't remember where it dropped, but not from a boss.

Ring 1: Nagel 26% mf. Dropped of all places from blood witch the wild, getting a cube for the lowgem mule.

Ring 2: ~50 mana and some other stats. Recently found. Used a low allround stat rare ring before that.

Merc: Defiance act 2 merc. The defense increase is quite helpful.

Weapon: Woestave now - it's a great boss sedater weapon. Baal just stands there, it's hilarious. Used a ~5-70 damage 4% life leech lochaber axe for a long time.

Armor: Used hawkmail a long time, now using rockfleece. It seems to help out with damage reduction a little bit.

Helmet: Coif of glory. In lack of better helmets. Gives a decent defense boost against arrows. Used berserker's headgear for the longest time.

That's it for now. Now it's off to getting Tyria going with baalruns and that sweet chunky experience gain from each run ^^

Yahoo yahoo! Both sisters cheer as a first major drop is made by quest bugged normal difficulty baal! A key piece for a standard bowa setup, or any setup requiring a general speed and accuracy boost! This is going on a mule to stew for a later build. Still many many runs left until a satisfiable level.

Just getting 4 levels on 5 solo baalruns - amazing progress for 40 minutes of gameplay. All quest bugged of course. Getting half decent drops, would be nice to see something better, but 5 runs isn't that much. Also, got magic find swap gear for a total of 221% magic find increase. When or if i find 2 x flawless or perfect topaz, that will be in a circlet which will give another ~40%.

I will be doing probably 20 more baalruns on this character before considering going to nightmare.

Max level static field really makes short work of the baal waves.

When going to nightmare, i think i will just run through act 1-3, then start doing quest bugged diabloruns as soon as possible. I have found that quest bugging andariel, duriel and mephisto, they don't drop as much as diablo and baal does. Mephisto isn't too bad, but the way down there is often cumbersome, and in nightmare and of course especially hell, very dangerous in hardcore. And walking through that maze is tiresome. It is much easier in chaos sanctuary.

Got some gear upgrades, 550 hp and 320 mp. Doing decent progress now.

Cool name you have ^^ I'm a believer in astrology and the names are partially derived from that. Norwegian language.

I am sorry but for this thread i will stick with the green ... but i will keep the feedback in mind for the future.

Update: Finding half decent stuff from baal - a funny item now is deathbit, i wanted to try to make a pure throwbarb last season but didn't really get the time or effort. I may this season. If i find one or two more such items, it's a full go. Throwbarbs are damaging as all hell, lol.

Just getting ready to move to nightmare. Baalruns is getting easy now. And experience gain is bountiful in nightmare even just running through. Looking at at least 5-6 levels from act 1 to act 4.
