This is very good input and it definately looks like that! But that's probably because I wrote the number of runs while doing LK, among other things.

I've done about 350 Eldritch > Shenk > Travi Runs and each take 2-3 minutes instead of LKs 45 sec. Finding 2x Ber and no other rune or item instead of both or one of them is only a fluke, but yes it's a better turn-out. Lower Kurast is statistically better and doing more runs of both would prove that!

Pure statistics (asuming you run the same character with speed relevant to that character for all the places) Countess is best for runes up to Ist, Lower Kurast for runes up to Ber (perhaps even Jah) and Council Members for runes over Ber.

One should also consider how much harder Travincal or killing monsters in level 85 areas is compared to Lower Kurast. If I wasn't a Hammerdin my killspeed in /p8 would never be this good and LK would be even better.

Also, if you've got Teleport you can do a 6 Chest-LK run in 20 seconds. So with a sorc, for example, LK has no competition of #1.

my lk runs are a bit longer than 20s on my sorc; it takes a few seconds to pick up enough of the gold and drink the potions to make sure you don't miss something there; and if there are monsters in the hut it takes even longer.
I've easily done 100+ lk runs with not much to show for it other than a couple 19life smalls and a fat stack of gold, highest rune to drop has been io.

I don't play hc so I didn't pussyfoot around in nm mode though; but a pure fire setup makes short work of andariel on p8. guess I'll just have to keep at it till she's strong enough to defeat travincal (which isn't exactly easy on an untwinked sorc)

at least we know it is possible to get a legitimate enigma with less than 2 weeks of legit play; sure luck has something to do with it and p8 helps a ton

You don't have to pick up any gold. If you tab just before you loot you will see any rune popping. If you're still unsure after that teleport to the right of the chest and move up. Will only take a sec!

100 runs is nothing! Look at the numbers where I found my stuff! Sometimes I had 250 runs of nothing then BAAAM; Sur, Sur, Gul, Ist within 50 runs!

It's hard for me estimate since I don't play two days per week. I'm still on antibiotics though so I haven't had the chance to go out drinking last few weeks. Also depends if I go watch some football, workout at the gym or do some random sport. But I guess... if you even it out over the whole week, 3-4 hours per day maybe? A lonely saturday I can easily play like 10 hours.

what is this tab before loot? though that just turn off the automap

He probably meant ALT.

When you press alt while popping the chest, rune and charm graphics will be seen briefly no matter how humongous the loot is.
