OH MY GOD THERE IT IS



I can't believe I finally found it. I am so frickin scared to ID it because almost every unique I have found so far has been either worst roll, really low, or anti-perfect. Oh well...here goes!!!



GERKE'S SANCTUARY

GDAMNIT SON OF A B*TCH!!!!! It rolled bottom of the barrel on PDR, which is the MAIN REASON I wanted this shield, as I don't have much PDR eslewhere. That really grinds my gear. Mid-roll on res (I don't think I need that much res with all this MDR), top-end MDR, and bottom-end ED. Oh well, it is what it is. I'll take it now and move on! Glad I found it!



I am cleaning out my stash at the moment and inspecting all my gear and trying to figure out how I can stack MDR, PDR, some res, lots of mana, FHR, and 63 FCR. It's going to be tough. I will need to respec strength to use GERKE's. I'll post screenshots of my gear options later and get some advice from you guys on how to set this up. I am thinking:

20 warmth
20 TK
20 ES
20 Orb
11 in pre-reqs/shiver/tele
Rest in CM

Enough STR for GERKE's
0 in energy
Enough dex for 50% block w/Gerke's (maybe max block?)
Rest in VIT.

I'll think some more later, time for exercise now!

Gz on finally finding Gerkes. Awesome underrated shield for sure. I’ll be curious to see what your gear set up looks like.

Thank you sir, yes it is definitely underrated! But the STR requirement is high. If I find a 15@/-15 jewel that would be awesome to socket with!!!

Starting Hell

CURRENT ITEMS

* I couldn't make it work with an IRON PELT which is really disappointing. IRON PELT + MAGEFISTS + SUICIDE BRANCH was the only option to get the FCR I needed. And even then my resists did not go over 50 (but I had a really high PDR, like 40). My FHR is 90 now, with IRON PELT it was 0. So I am using SPIRIT + UP'D SOL'd VMAGI + FROSTIES to get the breakpoints I need and the mana I need. I'll shoot for a HOTO and see where that takes me (40 FCR so I might be able to use IRON PELT or GBANE).
* DWARF STARS are exactly the same.
* AMULET is really lacking. I am using it to cover PDR and lightning resist. I'll work on that in A3.
* VGAZE is temp for now until I can get a SHAKO.
* GERKE's really screwed me. The PDR roll was low and the STR req is high. If I can find a nice 15@/-15 jewel I can socket it. If it doesn't work in the late game, I will abandon it for a MOSER's. I need the VIT.



CURRENT STATS



Enough STR for GERKE's, ENERGY to get around 550 MANA with SPIRIT and FROSTIES, rest in VIT. No points in DEX. I'll be left with 300 life if I try for max block.

63% FCR, 90% FHR (86 breakpoint), 34% DR, 26 PDR, 83 MDR hence TANKSORK

CURRENT SKILLS

Max Frozen orb. Cold mastery sitting at 12 with +skills for now. I'll add points to it every few levels. Shiver armor because it is safer - it stops attacks before they happen.



Max TK and ES. No other way around that.



The rest in WARMTH. Currently I am at level 80. I hope to max it out or get close by the time I am in A4 (split points between warmth and CM). It will add more safety with INSIGHT, and also give merc the option to use another weapon if necessary (KEPLIE + BLAKCHORN's for 95% slow, OBEDIENCE, other?).

MERC STATS AND ITEMS

He is a defense merc. He needs work. First he needs an elite weapon base. Then he needs an EBUGGED treachery (1k+ def).

I have an occulus and Visceratuant on switch for +4 total skills to pre-cast ES and shiver armor.



In the den of evil...my first elite base in HELL...not a terrible roll either. Nice to see lots of elite bases now.



This is NOT going well. Merc's measly 63 defense breast plate treachery is not working out. He is getting 2-3 shotted by these bastards and I can only sit back and TK them. I think merc has died 4-5 times now and we've barely killed 5 monsters.

It's time to bring the big guns out. I used a LEM and KO and PDiamond to up his eth shaftstop. It worked well against NM Mephisto. That's a lot of defense! Does anyone know what the highest UP'd ETH shaftstop defense is?



At 12k defense and with Guill's face, we are killing them now. I'll switch back to vgaze on him after this nonsense is over.

I hate skipping monsters, it makes me feel like a little girl. But sometimes I have no choice...

Found BISHOBOSHI's camp. I might farm them for bases. Experience is actually really good right now.



Found an elite base for merc. It's not ETH, but I can't wait. I'll try my luck at 4os.

This is my house, mothaf*cka!! Had to fight them like this because they were too tough and I can't do anything. Had to skip the boss guy because he was also immune to physical.



Rolled another 3os again, but I need 4os!
