how were they?

recipe mzybe? :p

mmm, delicious. although not quite as good as they could have been. we ran out of vanilla extract and they wont order more. zzzzz, retards. waste less and then it would be in the budget to get stuff like this. of course id probably still have some left if this other crazy lady who works here hadnt used up almost an entire bottle in the span of a week making farina. *facepalm* oh, the things i have to deal with....

lol, turned into a bit of a rant.

was there no sauce?

no marinara sauce, i made a light sauce with the sauteed onion, garlic, pepper and olives.

forgot to take a pic, but i made an awesome stew the other night. i based ti off a recipe my wife saw in a book and wanted to try bit i didnt have everything for it. the parts i had were - black eyed peas, leeks, carrots, parsnip, turnip. was supposed to be with lamb, parsley, rosemary and mint jelly, but i didnt have lamb, parsley or rosemary, so i substituted beef and cilantro (and left off the mint jelly.) was fantastic, gonna have to try it again sometime with the lamb.

---

ive been making this at work whenever we have extra salmon, which is pretty much whenever we order it since we either order too much or the supplier just sends us extra cuz they can. i dont mind though, this stuff is awesome.

first i salt it for a few days with salt and crushed red pepper (like gravlax but without pressing it)

then i slice and mix with oil and onions similar to schmaltz herring, but i also add dill and lemon zest for an extra burst of flavors that just pair so well with salmon (and some extra crushed red pepper). eat on some crackers and zomg so good....
