Ias/fcr frames are definitely different can confirm tested with imported single player chars with stacked ias/fcr

They go much faster than d2 lod

Bos sin with stacked ias
Smite with grief pb and extra ias pieces
mb faith zon with stacked ias

All noticeably much faster than max bps in og d2, seems like you really need fanat/bos to get enough ias, probably insane with frenzy too but I havent tested

Also tested with unspawnable items on sorc just to see if fcr was the same too, I had something like 600 fcr and the fcr was insanely fast. Not achievable legit obviously but if you do the same test in og d2 it caps out at the 200 fcr frame, not the case for d2r

First you did a great job/effort doing this, vouch for your vid n you
some mistakes about not showing %ias of your BoS or testing 5% ias gradually with smiter to know some new bp ias

for me your conclusion is slighty wrong, the ias bps don't changed at all
but
now we have more ias bps not limiting 6 fpa smiter or 9 fpa laying traps
we really need to know some data / specific numbers for this!

and like urkel said, prolly we have new limits for breakpoints

There are definitely code differences. D2r seems to have been developed on some mishmash of LoD server code versions that doesn't include every change they made over the years and has some weird handling of stuff they modded behind the scenes. The way animations were handled was changed serverside about 4 years ago and we don't really know what they changed, but we can see with D2r is clearly not functionally the same. And if people are getting extremely high fcr/ias without the caps that are supposed to be in place, that's indicating that the maximum velocity cap is missing. Look at a zon's bow firing animation. Its under Code: AM, Mode: A1, Wclass: Bow. It has FramesPerDirection = 14, ActionFlagFrame = 6, AnimationSpeed = 256. Hence, with 0% ias it takes 13 frames (max-1) and fires on frame #6. Point being, because it has 14 base frames and velocity is capped at {-85%,+75%}, the fastest a bow zon can attack is 7 FPA. Which is what most bowazons in LoD with faith shoot for. A diamond bow (0 base EIAS) faith with level 15 fanat (+33% EIAS) takes 65% item-ias (+42% EIAS), giving +75% EIAS using the formula ceiling(14/(1+EIAS)-1)
Likewise, a sorc has a 14 frame / 7 action frame cast animation. Cast rate uses the same diminishing return factor as IAS, EFCR = floor((120 * FCR) / (120 + FCR))
So her breakpoints are at 0/9/20/37/63/105/200% FCR = 0/8/17/28/41/56/75% EFCR. Plug those into the formula ceiling(14/(1+EFCR)-1) -> 13/12/11/10/9/8/7 frame cast animation


We can only speculate what the actual fuckity fuck is going on with D2r, but if people are reporting cast/attack animations faster than 7 frames on a bowazon / sorc, its clearly NOT capping animation velocity at +75% like it should
And if people are reporting that something previously 5 fpa has become 6 fpa, well shit I have no idea, that's not explained by a velocity cap being removed.

uh is anyone capable of testing a frenzy barb in D2r with as many +% EIAS modifiers as possible?
I think this might also explain why death lords are doing stupid amounts of damage

If this is right, a barb could wield 2x 6x shael phase blades with an allied paladin supplying fanat aura, then maybe throw in a few zerks and see what happens. If you had 275% ias on each weapon that's up to +200% EIAS or so.

but lets say its uncapped, it should be ceil(16/(1+2.00)-1) = 5 fpa
as in you could have a barb zerking as fast as a zealot is supposed to attack


also, this makes me wonder, if this is truly an issue, shouldn't werewolves be REALLY bugged? I don't know exactly how the devil werewolf attack speeds get figured, but I know it gives a huge +75% EIAS at level 33
Can someone test what happens if you just use fury with a 6x shael chu-ko-nu / demon crossbow on a werewolf with high level werewolf? It should be pretty funny. Throw in an allied paladin if possible
I gotta look up how to hero editor offline chars for d2r, bleh

should be bugged yeah, the vel cap breakpoint being removed cannot be the only reason for this issue, but we have a start with this..

edit: high propable they will lock bps again after the servers instability fix
