We tested several setups yesterday.

Enigma is cool and fast running but defense gear is simply better.

You can have the best Rare weapons ingame but Botd is still best in slot.

And rules can stay unchanged even cold is no problem at all.

The AOW-Damage is so incredible weak compared to Grief Forti setup in other ladders. :D Duels last forever.

no since ias and cold-damage have been changed

but its still not really a problem, especially since damage is that low

Hey guys, i continued to test within some more games and also used all my calculations and came to following conclusion:

Duelling is fun but the high life and low dmg of AOW-Barbs makes the duels a bit long lasting. (average 16-20 hits needed to kill opponent)

And the problem is mainly simply BOTD.

This weapon is way over the top overpowered since it gives you maximum dmg even more than any rare fools and + 1000 life because of the 30 all statz and after the new ias change the 60 ias is simply king not even mentioning the ~ 3500 defense the eth rune reduces of opponent Defense.
Even with a perfect 40 ias rare fools blade you need 3x 40ed 15 ias jewels now ... what makes botd unthinkable imbalanced. There is no more rare weapon possible to beat Botd-BA nowadays.


So to be honest we should think about banning Botd after the 2.5 game-changes and give Rare items and Weapons a higher focus.

Especially since you can use now all rare weapons even if they have 0 ias its no problem at all to get your hands now on a decent Erep Fools or Cruel weapon.

300ed fools 20 iaseth highlandblades and co sell for less than 4000 fg and even erep start at 10k nowadays.

But its just my 2 cent. :D

If all barbs end up at ~ 5800 life its much more fun than actual 6,5-7k life BOTD-AOW-Barbs. And duels are more fun and mana is lesser problem with shorter duelz and higher overall attackrate-values in the meta.

By doing that so soon during the life of D2r you are rewarding whales who have the ability to buy very expensive weapons - which are inferior to BOTD. I completely agree with your sentiment but its probably too soon to implement. ultimately you want a degree of level playing field and this would skew that. You should also calc how good a rare needs to be to beat an Oath now (355%ed and grants 50% ias Eth Repl). if Oath still beats most rares then your idea is pretty sound.

Problem is that botd was already overpowered and got an incredible advantage on top since 2.5 changes.

And in terms of whales .... for best aow gear you need 32020s that cost 8k fg each .... and a perfect Botd-BA is > 30k fg.

So to buy a valid Rare Blade for 10k fg is really your least problem if you want to beat even an average Aow-Barb. :D

There is nothing bm with botd and long duels are much more fun compared the grief bvb experience.

.. about the ias thing does not 40 ias fools ba + 20 ias from hl amu =60ias botd?

What you need to buy to play valid AOW is at least such a blade here:

And as you can see they sell for less than 2000 fg nowadays.

I will never understand why you guys used all the time Highlord in LOD. Be happy i was not there. Yes ok 1.08 hl with 30% speed was an option for high skilled users.

But even best rare rings + HL is no competition vs Fools + Angelics. You only have no idea or are not smart enough to write the correct calculators.

And bring your Aow barb and i will show you ... "how funny" long duelz are. The one with better gear will simply win 95% since you exclude every rng.

I like this idea :)

I'd like to see some all rare league only for barbs :)

I talked with Leicalized who has the the best 2 and 1 sox visios and he says that zeal, jab or fury are better than conc barb :/

it would be nice to play some bvb duels with sth different than common items like forti, grief or botd
