Melee//gm: Fun & Inclusive Gm Melee Duels - Topic

Just giving something a new name though is like changing the shade of lipstick on a pig. It serves no purpose. I’m not against the idea. I just don’t see the point. If anything because there’s currently two known games there’s going to be a transition period. Where one dies off and then eventually one becomes the norm with the same players. Nothing changes except for the name of the game.

Edit in short: If your intention is to change the name of a game you’ve succeeded. If you’re trying to change some behaviours or attitudes this is not going to work.

There used to be multiple gm melee games which were always full before palapk turned into pn and became the main game so it can work if the community is active enough. If a lot of people in pn are really bm towards furies or just bm in general then it would make sense to have another game. I don’t personally like the idea since it’s depressing but if it’s necessary then it would make sense to encourage the community staying active

I explained that I did the math to JeneralJason and Stevo that Paladins still statistically have a class advantage over Fury, even though Fury has more weapon options now. Because they’re new to melee and don’t know who I am, they weren’t sure if I was correct. So I offered to prove it. I bet 1,000 fg that I would lose a set to a BotD/fort/gface Paladin if I wore cookie cutter Fury gear. Just as I predicted, I lost the set. However, even after I lost the set they both still insisted that Fury is just too good now and has to be banned.

So that’s where we are with it. They’re pretty rude guys who don’t listen to reason and have no interest in it. So a new community seems appropriate.
