You are right my previous suggestion was the first thing that came to mind not very well thought out, but it is undeniable that there is a scenario where having 2 characters can be used to ones advantage if they are allowed to challenge eachother. Maybe similar to the way ranks go once in the top 5 you must get the rank directly under your first place character before you can advance passed it?

Again, I don't care if its my idea, or someone elses that we go with, I'm not here to rock the boat I am simply pointing that it is possible to gain an unfair advantage through this method. I am in no way insinuating that Pablo is trying to do this by the way.

The way it was implemented previously was that you could not challenge and duel yourself.

There is no way to ensure the integrity of it.

If that deadlocks one or both of your characters, that's unfortunate but too bad.

So yes or no? I'm confused now as your two answers are conflicting of one another.

If I can speculate, I'd say that Chris meant Pablo has enough integrity to be able to execute that with no issues. And on a case by case basis, I agree that Pablo could and I would have no problem with him doing it.

Unfortunately we have to implement rules that apply globally and not everyone has Pablo's integrity and could be trusted to execute this with fairness (I mean you).

Go manage your league, argue with yourself, and implement whatever you want.

I get that you and your pal Oufnut don't like me, thats fine. I'm quite literally only trying to help avoid problems in the future. My league is a clone of this one that is designed only for barbarians, so naturally I would like to keep everything consistent for the sake of ease in crossover if anyone joins one or the other, or both. When it comes to something that's constructive I'm fully willing to put differences aside for the greater good, the only thing I've posted that you dislike are polite suggestions intended to stimulate a conversation that will lead to a solution.



I do love to take advantage of any loophole that I can in almost any situation.
Perfect examples:

nulling a duel after loosing because the challenger accidentally made post early, (this one I could never do but I hear someone did lol)
paying for 1-99 level services,
buying rolled items,
buying mtgo tickets with forum gold.

every person here finds loopholes in one way or another, I think it's been part of diablo 2 since battle.net first started.

In the past, whenever someone has had multiple characters, same type or different, none of the challenging rules changed apart from not challenging yourself (which really isn't a rule change either). There's no real need to fix what is not broken. I see no problem with multiple characters on the ladder by one user, so long as they are not identical and can not challenge himself. Same challenging applies, 2 ranks above until #3, and as TJ said, if someone gets locked in, no big deal, it will work itself out through wins / losses.
