I've theory crafted the shit out of shields and still no luck.
In a perfect world, you would gamble the kites on the lowest char that can get them (since gambling can be +/- 5 levels). I think this was lvl 12 iirc? But this takes ridiculously long to do.

So as a shortcut, I tried this in single player and duped the 1x shield that I got and used that as my base shield.

Tldr, 500 rolls and all trash.

So on battlenet I've been rolling on a 26 since it is much easier to get my hands on input shields (and I can recycle the char for different crafts .... like blood gloves)

But the reason why shields are such a pain is that they need multiple affixes to be usable, and 99.999999% are auto charsi

30/20 2 sock at a minimum, but ideally plr or life rep as well

In all honesty, i dont even know what i would use it for. I mean if it was 30/20/2/75% and had 10% magic res, it would be cute on a zon as a super utility shield. But losing a socket hurts fury/jab dam.

Style is the most important thing though ferdi. gotta be swaggin in the moor
