Good points but I figured I could go the cheaper route and get a mark viii motor and do the swap myself. I say now that I don't plan on selling it but that time will come eventually so yeah, the money I put into it will be lost one day :/ such is the modding game though.
What have you done in life to make you so knowledgeable, you really know your stuff man :)

Grow up around cars and bikes

Develop a passion for anything with an engine

Spill blood sweat and beer I mean tears wrenching on things

Race what you work on, work on what you race

READ

LISTEN to people that have the knowledge all the while learning who to ignore

When around the right people become a sponge

Don't let anyone get in the way of what you want

Don't settle

Oh, and always try to outdo the other guy.

I've only taken auto tech for a yr and don't seem to know about half of the stuff you talk about lol
I also have a book that teaches you what everything does, the makeup of engines, transmissions, etc.
Guess I need to read through some more of it for a start lol.
What do you do for a living if, I may ask?

Not to be a dick or anything here but i know a lot more people that just grew up around cars, (or a farm for that matter) that would put 99% of these new tech kids to shame.

I'm a Chemical Operator. I was a motorcycle mechanic for a little while and then I went into construction working for my Dad. Now I work for one of the largest chemical companies in the world that you never hear about.

The internet and model specific forums will be your greatest learning tool. The books are great for general theory and stuff but knowing what parts are good and what parts are not comes from listening to people that have actually bought them and tried them.

I wanted to get into cars but my friend just graduated from UTI and can't find a job..jobs suck right now. Discouraging.
Need to find a job in health or law or something..a lot of them out there.
