clearly you don't know the car market here.
No, I probably know it better than you. It's got a bit less of the emphasis on vehicles as status symbols that the mainland has but still the same overabundance of children spending their parents money while not getting a lesson in the value of money. And imported luxury goods are marked up considerably compared to prices in Europe/America. I know generally the mark up is generally 50-75%, but just to prove it, I checked Taipei's Ferrari dealer. They have a used California for 12,500,000 NT$. Which is about 380,000 USD. A well optioned new California retails for $230-240,000 in the US, a used one the same price as the one in Taipei is about $220,000, but you can find one for closer to 200. A 488 is what, at least 15mil NT$, probably closer to 16 after options. P.S., that Maserati is overpriced and just generally a poor car anywhere, the ROC not exempt. But please tell me I don't know what the market is like. You picked the wrong part of the world to tell me that, East Asian policy and economics is a bit of an area of expertise for me (and also why I knew those pictures were taken in Taiwan).
But hey, thanks for taking this so personally. I know I've gotten under someone's skin when they feel the need to whine about it over private message.
